Originally bred in the Belgian city of Malines, and officially recognized by the AKC in 1959, the Belgian Malinois is one of four varieties of the Belgian Malinois, a highly intelligent, hardworking and steadfastly loyal dog historically developed as a herder for protecting farms and their families. Today, this Belgian sheepdog is considered a working dog, renowned for such tasks as tracking suspects, detecting explosives and narcotics, assisting our military, and guarding the presidential family and visiting heads of state. It was the Belgian Malinois Cairo, for instance, who helped the U.S. Navy SEALs take down notorious terrorist Osama bin Laden, and the Belgian Malinoises Hurricane and Jordan who famously assisted the U.S. Secret Service in thwarting a White House intruder. Unflappable in all circumstances, the Belgian Malinois breed is born to learn almost any task and to perform it at the highest level of its mental and physical abilities.

As a member of the herding group, the Belgian Malinois consistently excel at any and every task you set them to. Belgian Malinois are so intelligent, strong, agile and brave that they are called upon for important jobs all over the world. They can be gentle, precise and quick while herding sheep for their master, but they can also be brutal, unwavering, and dominant as attack dogs for police forces. They are truly an incredible breed. Our Belgian Malinois jewelry represents the partnership we share with these amazing dogs. They are not only man’s best friend; they are man’s best ally.
